The Girls Make Beats Gala was a truly magical night. With Honorees, Missy Elliott, Harvey Mason Jr., Chlöe, and Flyana Boss, the Gala was a staple event for the music industry. It paid homage to Hip Hop 50th celebrating Women Past, Present, and Future. DJ Jojo and MK The Boss spun trailblazing hits from the 80's while Sparkle and Mak10 spun the 90's! Marlee XX and DJ Marley took center stage spinning the 2000's! A truly moving spoken word interlude was performed by the incredible GMB alumni, Kaiya Nyasha. The Guests received a first look at the Girls Make Beats Documentary trailer and were able to take part in what is believed to be the first-ever beat auction that was accompanied by 3D Visuals. Bre-Z sold her beat "Stay" to the CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr., Sparkle sold her beat "Timing" to Flyanna Boss and poet.rhi sold her beat entitled "never let me down" to a friend of the org at Bank of America. The night concluded with a live performance from Sparkle and C Bleu and the GMB Girls. The event was so well received that it was featured in both Billboard and Variety. A huge success for our first gala with many more to come!
