Girls Make Beats Honored at the 2025 SONA Warrior Awards

We’re beyond proud to share that Girls Make Beats was honored at the 5th Annual SONA Warrior Awards, held on October 12, 2025, at the beautiful Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Hosted by the Songwriters of North America (SONA), the annual event shines a spotlight on leaders who are driving change in the music industry—and this year, we were humbled to be among them.

In a powerful moment we’ll never forget, the award was presented by the incomparable Janelle Monáe, who praised the GMB mission of creating space for girls in music production, DJing, and engineering. In her heart-felt presentation speech, Monáe shared a story about a young student who was timid and unsure of her music production. However, the student never gave up and found courage through the patience and dedication of her teacher, Ms. Tiffany Miranda. Janelle closes the story by sharing that she herself was the student and that witnessing the impact and importance of an organization like Girls Make Beats is something she will forever cherish.

GMB founder, Tiffany Miranda, and GMB core team accepted the Warrior Award on behalf of Girls Make Beats during a night full of celebration, inspiration, and recognition. This year’s Warrior Awards celebrated some of the biggest names and most influential forces in the music business. Fellow honorees included rising pop sensation Chappell Roan, iconic producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, music attorney and SONA co-founder Dina LaPolt, and Primary Wave Music CEO Larry Mestel. Each recipient was recognized not only for their creative contributions, but also for their commitment to advocacy, innovation, and equity in the music space.

This recognition is a milestone in our journey to empower the next generation of female creators and leaders in music and tech. We’re grateful to SONA for shining a light on our work and to Janelle Monáe for honoring us with her voice and presence. This is more than a win for Girls Make Beats. It’s a win for every girl who's ever dreamed of creating music and changing the game!

I once ran a small studio for local talent, and I saw how a lack of resources dampened enthusiasm. After long nights at the console, the only thing that often saved me was being able to switch gears — for example, cooking something delicious for the team to recharge everyone's energy. That's when I discovered the Southwood RE7 commercial rotisserie for 35 chickens at https://mcdonaldpaper.com/southwood-re7-electric-35-chicken-commercial-rotisserie-oven-machine-240v/ — the perfect thing for cafes or events where you want to quickly feed everyone with delicious chicken. It's not just equipment, but a way to create a moment of warmth and togetherness when the music is just beginning. Thank you, Girls Make Beats — you make sure that girls don't just dream, but do.
